What does an engineering technician do?

Engineering technicians provide technical support to engineers during the design of manufacturing processes for a production facility.

What do I need to get an engineering technician job?

HCC – This AAS program prepares students for employment in a variety of industries that use technicians or technology specialists to support engineering staff. Upon graduation, students will be able to use these skills to organize, and carry out engineering technology projects. 

DTCC – This AAS program focuses on mechanical engineering technology. 

With additional OJT the engineering technician can advance into a Manufacturing Engineering Technologist role, to develop tools, implement designs, and integrate machinery, equipment, or computer technologies to ensure effective manufacturing processes.
