About the Susquehanna Workforce Innovation Partnership

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Public Law 113-128, was signed into law in 2014 and significantly reformed workforce delivery systems to better align education, economic development, workforce systems, and employment services. In particular, it promoted a “holistic” approach at the local level to supporting job seekers and created partnerships among diverse service providers and agencies.

The Susquehanna Workforce Innovation Partnership (SWIP), is the organization local to Cecil and Harford Counties in Maryland that encompasses all partners engaged in helping people regain employment.  The SWIP meets four times each year to coordinate resources across the region and sponsor additional events and workshops. Events are listed on the SWIP Calendar.
