What does a certified medical assistant do?

Certified medical assistants perform a great variety of duties in medical offices, such as filing insurance claims, working one-on-one with patients while drawing blood or taking a vital signs and medical history, collecting and preparing lab specimens, sterilizing medical equipment, cleaning both waiting room and examination rooms, and ordering supplies and equipment for the medical office.
